Dating in Berkshire Helping your Dating Succeed

A Few Words from Bekki James, House of Colour

Filed under: Uncategorized — elsbeth @ 6:40 pm

Thanks you for your kind words Elsbeth. It was a pleasure analysing which colours looked fantastic on you! Colour can be so powerful in helping you look and feel great. Being successful at anything is all about confidence and that includes dating. How you look and feel about yourself comes from within, and as Elsbeth now knows, seeing how great you can look in the right colour clothes makes feel so much more confident about yourself. I am really looking forward to the seminar in May when I can share with you some top tips on looking fantastic.

I have also witnessed firsthand the magic that John Cassidy creates with his camera. I was lucky enough to be with Elsbeth on the morning of her shoot and did her make up for her too. She looked, and more importantly felt wonderful. They say a picture says a thousand words so having a great shot of you on your dating profile is vital.

Look forward to meeting you all at the seminar in May to soak up all the advice on offer!

You say it best when you say nothing at all

Filed under: Uncategorized — elsbeth @ 6:37 pm

Catching someone’s eye is often down to chance - chance that you both happen to
be there at the same time and in the same place, and chance that your smile is
reciprocated. You could be on the train, in the queue for the supermarket, or an
on-line dating site. When you are looking for love it is that first chance encounter
sets all the rest in motion.

Many people who have met the love of their life online say that it was the
photograph that made the difference. "He looked friendly." "She had a nice smile".
"Wow - those eyes!" These are all comments I’ve heard from people who have
started new and happy relationships online. Of course, personalities have to be
compatible and the time has to be right, but so often that chance encounter is
started with a photograph.

Yet so many people online either don’t have a photograph or have one that isn’t
doing them any favours. An old wedding photo or half-of-a-couple isn’t going to
give the right impression. What’s needed is a photograph that projects your
personality and reveals something of who you really are. And that’s where a
specialist professional photographer can make all the difference.

Do your friends say you have a cheeky smile? Do your eyes light up when you
laugh? Does your serious look make people go weak at the knees? That’s what I
uncover when I take your photograph.

Quite often people forget they are having their photograph taken because we are so
busy chatting and having a laugh. They think I’m just making small talk, being
polite or that I hate silence. What’s really happening is that I’m encouraging a
friendship with the camera - in the same way that a friendship is struck on a long
train journey or when the till roll mechanism gets stuck when you are waiting to pay
for your groceries. Your personality will always speak volumes - when you let it.
And my camera can capture the very best of what your personality has to say.

So if you are looking for love, let your first flirtation be with my camera. It can’t ask
you out to dinner, but it can bring out the very best in you and maybe lead to that
chance online encounter that changes the rest of your life.

Did anyone ever tell you that you have lovely eyes?

Hello Again

Filed under: Uncategorized — elsbeth @ 6:36 pm

Hello again,

We are holding a FREE Dating Seminar at the Kings Arms in Cookham High Street. We have some fantastic offers on the night including discounted membership and offers from our affiliates. John Cassidy from www.johncassidyphoto.co.uk, Bekki James from House of Colour image consultants, Annie O’Neill from http://www.newhorizons-divorcecoaching.co.uk
and Julie Halton from Express it are going to be on hand with offers
and advice.

I had my colours read the other day by Bekki and it was amazing !!! I am officially a cool winter, which is a shame because my wardrobe thinks I am something completely different. But it was a shock to see how wrong I was. I would really recommend having a chat with her. It will really change the way you feel about yourself. It almost makes you more conscious of yourself
and your image. From someone who is happy in jods and muddy riding
boots it was a real eye opener…

John took my photo the other day as well. The results were fantastic.. I look 10 years younger and after getting over the initial nerves I really really enjoyed it. I didn’t think they looked like me but everyone who knows me said he really captured the real me!!

Book now for the Dating Seminar as places are filling up fast.

Hi again..

Well today was one of those days that started off at 100 miles an hour and did not stop.

With my experience of Dating both on-line and face to face I thought I would share with you my motivation for starting up a dating company.

I really wanted to find a traditional "Dating Agency" which would make finding someone easier or at least less stressful. There are a number of options open to all of us I guess. But "Introductions Agencies" all seem to charge the earth and don’t really provide you with many guarantees. Speed Dating seems to be a younger persons game and you tend to find the same people at the venues. Having run a couple of Speed Dating events myself it constantly proves impossible to find decent men. Dining groups seem to be the same, either all women or the same few men

Having chatted both on-line and on the phone to a man who I had met on a dating site, we arranged to meet. I cancelled once and rearranged. He was quite insistent and said why are you on a dating site if you don’t want to meet? Finally having stood outside a pub, holding my breath and trying to calm myself down to make that first step to meet this man I had only ever had a couple of conversations with. This made me shiver. I am not a shy person but it was very much outside my comfort zone.

I took that first step and have never looked back. The man in question was exactly like his photo! He was charming and polite! We clicked instantly even though our profiles did not match at all.

Trust me, there are decent men and women out there. But men look in a very different way to women. Women are much more proactive in their search for men. Men are actually very sensitive and slightly shy when it comes to meeting women. Doing it on line gives them security and privacy. Having spoken to a number of men who are looking and are available they have the same fears as women do. They get the same loopy nut jobs as we do. Not to mention the usual fact that the photos don’t always reveal the true image of the person.

It is well worth spending time on your photo. Don’t use your phone camera in a back bedroom and don’t use one that has your ex cut out. Make sure it is up to date and it is a true likeness of you today! John Cassidy from UKHeadshots can vouch for the importance of looking your best. Join up and receive a free photo shoot and profile picture.

Having the ability to meet someone in a safe and secure environment and meeting people who are serious about meeting someone is the key. By providing small intimate gatherings I am providing you with an alternative to what is out there at the moment.

Check out our Latest events. Book early to make sure you secure your place.. We only run small groups of 3 to 5 couples so spaces are limited. Register your interest and we will confirm you booking. We do take into account age range and common interests when putting these events together so be honest.

I look forward to meeting you all soon.

Flirting Tips for Women

Filed under: Uncategorized — elsbeth @ 6:35 pm
No. 1 Be direct

Men can so easily misinterpret the signs from women so be sure when you flirt that your signals are clear and that he’ll know you’re interested in him.

I’d never advocate flirting with someone sexually from the very beginning if you’re looking for something more serious, but flirting for fun is fine when you genuinely want to meet people and strike up a conversation.

No. 2 Smile, smile and smile some more!

People love being around happy, positive people their mood and feelings are contagious. Get yourself into the right frame of mind for flirting and go and have fun because if you feel good about yourself then others will feel good being around you.

No. 3 Be different

If you want to get noticed and have a guy approach you try wearing something unusual or carrying something that will be easy for a guy to comment on. Remember, guys are afraid of rejection too so make it easy for him to come up and talk to you.

No. 4 Don’t hang around your girlfriends

Guys find it tough to approach someone they like if they’re in a group with their friends so if you see a guy who’s interested in you try and separate for a while from your friends so that he feels more comfortable approaching you.

No. 5 Reject a man politely

Men can appear like idiots when they approach women sometimes but telling them to ‘get lost’ or something similar is neither feminine nor polite. Men are really no different to women when it comes to having the nerve to approach someone they’re interested in. I always say treat someone as you’d want to be treated yourself so let him down gently!

No. 6 Let him talk

Ask him about himself and what he enjoys doing to really find out all about him - remember, people love to talk about themselves and feel good when someone shows an interest in them. This also gives you more information about him and if he’d be someone you’d want to give your telephone number to.

No. 7 If you give out your number, give a real one

Imagine what it must feel like plucking up the courage to dial a woman’s number only to find you’ve been given the number of the local laundrette. If you don’t feel comfortable to give him your number then simply decline politely so he knows where he stands.

No. 8 Go on…make the first move!

Studies have found that most men would love to be approached by a woman. So why leave your love life to chance, and at the end of the day what have you got to lose by smiling and making a fun, flirty and casual approach to a man you’re interested in?

And finally:

No. 9 Don’t try too hard.

There’s no point in trying to be someone you’re not so just relax, have fun with flirting and be proud of who you are and the rest will happen naturally.

Hi everyone,

As you can see we have a new website which has a lot more bells and whistles then the last one. I must thank Sven Latham for all his hard work and incredible technical ability in putting this together for me and Warren Kerley from Tank Creative (who I managed to find at a High Wycombe Rugby Club mini’s Tournament) for the design. We all would welcome your comments and feed back on our new site.

We are looking to move forward this year with a number of events including Ascot, Henley and Marlow regattas. Not to mention superb Dining venues which include Villa D’este in Marlow and the newly refurbished Boulters Restaurant and Bar in Maidenhead. Check out our Events page. Please note we do not run large groups so early booking is essential.

We now have an on-line site and welcome you to join us there to meet your perfect match. If (like I was) you are not that comfortable about meeting someone on line in a random pub, book one of our events and you can meet in a safe and secure environment to make that first dating experience comfortable and relaxed.

As you will see we have some wonderful affiliates who have supported us on our journey. Many are offering member benefits so make sure you let them know you found them at The Dating Company UK.

Hope to meet you soon at one of our events.
